I've already completed my assignments before the study week and now i can concentrate revising for the coming exam! after so long without studying and now i come face to face again with exams!

there are so much to study that i need to revise.. i need to revise for the whole study of the Old Testament.. that is a very wide subject considering there are so many books in the old testament.

Time to go back to my studies!

Assignments.. assignments!!

Assignments has been up to my neck recently although I've finished most of it before April. Most of us now who are in the 2nd last month of the end of the semester are like walking "zombies" in the seminary. During the chapel service... some of us sleep, reading the assignments or just wondered off somewhere else in the mind but the body is in the service. well... i guess this always happens in any academic institutions! and i'm not that far off either....

This semester i have a total of 5 assignments to complete, to name them:

  1. Introduction of the book of Galatians.
  2. The letters Paul wrote to Corinth.
  3. What is a Parable and why Jesus use parables to teach?
  4. Deuteronomistic History and its applications for church.
  5. An Ancient Near East Civilization (Egypt) and its impact to the Old Testament.
The first 3 are from the NT class and i have already completed it... now soon to complete the Deuteronomistic History and move on to the last assignment as soon as possible so that i have time to revise on my subjects before the exam comes!! Stressed... stressed....

God's Agape Love!

Have you ever take time just to be alone, walk and appreciate the beauty of God's creation?
Have you ever notice the perfectness of God's creation?
Have you ever notice how God clothes the lilies and provided for his creations?
Have you ever notice God's creation working the way they are created to do?
Have you ever take a deep breath and inhale the goodness of God?
Have you ever felt that God is always watching you?
Have you ever feel that you are insignificant but God loves you anyway?

There are time where most people will fill their heart with pressures of the world today and forget who, whom they are in the eyes of God. We are his creation and we are made to have fellowship with Him. He calls us his children and willingly send His Son to suffer death in our place to redeem us from the slavery of Sin. We sometimes feel insignificant and unworthy of God's agape love! but He still love us. All we need to do is to accept His sacrifice of Love on the cross! The grace are given to us! As we look at the old rugged cross where Jesus bore our sins to redeem us back to our Father in heaven, let us remember his love for us in this season of Lent.

Reading Week

Another week of Weekend practical in Kepong Chinese Methodist Church. This time arrangements was made for my one night accommodation while serving in my practical church. the week before, when i am having a discussion with Rev. Teoh (Pastor in Charge), he's trying to arrange a place for me to stay. Initial plan was to put me in the store room for a night! ahaha... storeroom with aircon wan! But one of the member say its not good for me to stay in the storeroom! haha....

So arrangements was made and Sis. Yeh Mei willing to host by providing a place for me to stay. So i'm staying in a children's home for my practicals in Kepong. She is a single lady about 60's, the night i went to her place, she was sharing to me the ministry she is doing now. Kinda big burden for her to manage this children's home. this children's home is for the single parent child, when the child brought to her she will take care of them and teach them the Word of God so that they can be followers of Christ.

Last Sunday during worship service, there was an anthem by the children choir.... they sang beautifully! there are even parts in the song. i guess the conductor takes a long time in training these children to sing. i guess the adult choir will be heavenly when they sing! haha....

This week is STM's reading week! all classes are closed, no chapel service and no community gardening! i am so happy that this for this week's kinda holiday for all of us, but its a good time to catch up with my assignments. I decided to stay back in STM to study and finish up some of my assignments. One problem, this week there are no meals prepared for students who are staying back.

I have to eat outside everyday this week!! and spend more money on food! lolz... but i get to finish one of my assignment and now researching on my next assignment... but how i wish the reading week were longer...

This sunday, i'll be teaching in the Sunday school! (of course in English)! it will be my first time teaching the childrens! i've got the book from the other teacher... so i need to prepare also the class this coming sunday!

Well... i have to manage my time wisely now... its already Thursday today.. and the pass few days i've been in library the whole day! the nice and cold environment... nice to study and do assignment... and also nice to take a nap as well... hahaha.....

STM Day of Fast and Prayer

Every semester in STM there is a Fast and Prayer day allocated where by the whole day just dedicated to prayer and fasting there are no classes during the day. Today the whole community in STM have a day of fast and prayer from 8.00 am till 4.00 pm with the theme "Build Your Church, Lord". The day started with worship in the chapel and sharing about the postures of prayer by Ms. Ng Wai Ling from TRAC. there are 3 postures of prayer shared and illustrated by Ms. Ng: Willing, Will-Full, and Will-less.

Willing - Whole hearted come to God in prayer forsaking our contol in our won future and willingly to commit, obey, and abide in His will.

Will-Full - Pray with our own agenda and we are controlling our own future.

Will-Less - There is no point in prayer, it doesn't change anything.

At times i'm will-full in prayer, my prayers are dry and i have my own agenda and not putting it down and let God guide me. Time like this i need to reflect on my life. why am i having control of my own future and not willing to let go and let God. This kind of prayer are like telling God to do my own will instead of i follow God's will.

it takes time and effort to build a relationship with God to let go of myself to come to His feet humbly letting go all my control and follow his will. I have to present myself before God, honestly and recollect whom am I in Christ and recognising that i'm his child in order to come before him in prayer.

Prayer is an essential and an important discipline for every believer. Its a communication with God to build an intimate relationship with him. As minister of his work and servants, i need to spiritually in-tune with God and have that relationship in order to listen to his calls and direction for those i'm ministering and serving.

During the fast and prayer time, there are payer station around the campus and as we walk around and praying in the stations. I felt the presence of God with me as i pray for different needs of the countries. When we are willing to just let go and pray, we can feel God and his spirit moving among us.

God is Great and He hears us when we seek Him wholeheartedly.

My first week in my placement church

I reached home on Friday at about 7pm! it was my sister and Sean's birthday! just in time to go back and take a shower after fighting my way into the train! went to my home fellowship group and joined them for a fellowship and as well as bible study with them. Celebrated sean's birthday and went for a supper after that!

On Saturday, went for a game of badminton! its my first time playing badminton this year and i enjoyed it! my meeting with the pastor of Kepong Chinese Methodist church was at 3pm! after the game, take a shower and went to kepong to meet up with the pastor.

A very beautiful church located next to a secondary school in Taman Sri Bintang

When i reached there, i went to the office which is located at the ground floor! went to have a time with pastor and discussed on my practical there.. i have to speak in mandarin! i am asked to join the youth fellowship at 7.30pm and teach in English for sunday school! and the accomodation are yet to settle for me! :P

Joined the Youth fellowship at night on the same day! speaking mandarin all the way! i actually recognised the president of the fellowship met him once during the CACMYF convention in melaka about 4 or 5 years ago! i don think he remember my face though! haha....

Sunday! have to wake up early in the morning to travel to church! its about 30mins if there are no traffic jams! sunday morning is a clear drive to Kepong Church.. attended worship service at 8.30 am and the 10.30 am. Pastor Elaine was the speaker that day. Her sermon was the '3H. Head, Heart and Hand'

After church worship! went for lunch with the LCEC with Pr. Elaine and her husband at a restaurant nearby! it was sumptuous lunch as we fellowship around the table and i have to speak mandarin all the way! exciting and good experience for me! i'll expect more when i am serving in the church!

Uncivilized Malaysian taking public transport

After a week of break from studies because of Chicken Pox, i returned to STM refreshed and ready to continue my studies! Everyone are friendly and concern when they ask how i am doing and am i feeling better. Makes me feel like home when i have friends who asked about me and cared for me! The Lecturers are also nice and helped me a lot to catch back on the classes which i have missed out.

This week is my first week of placement practical in Kepong Chinese Methodist church. There was no arrangement for accomodation for me in Kepong so i have to go home and drive to church myself. left STM on Friday and reached KL sentral at 5pm! i waited for 2 hours inorder to get into the train and i missed 4 trains... argh!! a new system was created to help the public to take the transport. they draw lines so that people have to queue up to get onto the train. instead of a one line queue there was 4 lines queue. people just do not know how to queue! when the train arrive people just jam pack themself to the entrance and make the passangers hoard to get out from the train! after 50 years of independence people still acted that way!

It is not because i reached the station at peak hour! even when i was at the front of the Queue i was pushed back and couldn't enter! people will not care about you and just push themself in to the train. there was also people who squeeze into the train even though its already jam packed inside! take a look at the video!

why can't people be more civilized? is it because of the goverment? they are busy with their politics until there are no time to look into this matter? the PM commented on the KTM transportation and say it was really bad! did he do anything after that? its still the same! and they say 'Malaysia Boleh' boleh what? boleh rush and push their way into the train!

i was really up sad upon this matter! hope that in the future God will place a good government to look after the needs of the people. And the public have to learn to be 'Civilized'.
